Crossings- A Fairy Play

arts, performing, fiction, kids, family · EN

In a whimsical twist of fate, the Wildersham children find themselves uprooted from their bustling city life to the enchanting countryside home known as Crossings. Bound by the stipulations of a will, they must navigate the challenges of living alone for two weeks. As they explore their new surroundings, they encounter a cast of intriguing neighbors—ghosts, fairies, and perhaps even their own imaginations. Written by the celebrated poet Walter De La Mare, Crossings was first performed in 1919 at the Wick School, Hove, to honor the end of the Great War. With a cast made up entirely of boys aged fourteen and under, except for one adult character, this play invites listeners into a world of adventure and wonder, where reality and dreams blur. Join us for a delightful journey filled with mystery and magic, as summarized by ToddHW. This show includes AI-generated content.
