Food of the Gods, and How It Came to Earth

fiction, science, comedy · EN

Join Mr. Bensington and Professor Redwood as they embark on a groundbreaking experiment that produces a miraculous substance capable of making living things grow exponentially! However, as their creation spirals out of control, chaos ensues when insects and plants revel in the benefits of this Food of the Gods. Surely, no one would consider giving such a potent substance to a human child... would they? In this lesser-known science fiction satire, H.G. Wells cleverly critiques all facets of society—from scientists and ministers to wealthy philanthropists and revolutionaries—while ultimately reaffirming his faith in humanitys relentless pursuit of progress. - Summary by Catharine Eastman
