CABLE-TV: A Rare Thoughts Podcast

society, culture, personal, journals · EN

CABLE-TV is a Rare Thoughts podcast from Gee, Antenna of Rare User. A cultural commentary podcast from Gee, Antenna of Rare User: a veteran cable man with two decades inside users homes. Cable didn't die. It evolved into modern social media, and we climbed inside it. Not the wires. The job. Cable used to decide what a household watched and when. Now the feed decides, and the audience is part of the program. CABLE-TV reads society, media, and internet culture from behind the wire and through it: the sitcoms we grew up on, the feed we live in now, and the people living inside it. Each episode is a 10–15 minute direct transmission, made to ride along with your day. "Your life is your motion picture. And we're all watching."
