Jesus in His Jewish Context | Exploring the World of the Gospels, the Kingdom of God, and the Roots of Early Christianity with Dr. Jeff Colburn

religion, spirituality, christianity, history · EN-US

What if understanding Jesus meant stepping into His world? Jesus in His Jewish Context helps you rediscover the Gospels through the eyes of first-century Judaism. Hosted by Dr. Jeff Colburn—a Biblical scholar with a PhD in Bible Exposition and expertise in Second Temple Judaism—this podcast bridges the gap between faith and history. Each episode uncovers how Jewish life, Scripture, and expectation shaped Jesus’ teachings and the birth of the early church. You’ll learn why His parables echoed the rabbis, how the Temple defined His mission, and what the Kingdom of God meant to His listeners. Whether you’re a pastor, student, or lifelong learner, you’ll walk away with deeper understanding, spiritual insight, and a renewed vision of Jesus as both Rabbi and Redeemer. ——— Please join our Facebook group to receive additional resources related to each episode, engage in respectful discussions, and post quest
