Expository Thoughts on the Gospels - St. Matthew

religion, spirituality, christianity · EN

In Expository Thoughts, J. C. Ryle thoughtfully breaks down the Gospels into manageable sections of about twelve verses each, highlighting two or three key insights for reflection. At a time when detailed commentaries were abundant, Ryle sought to provide a practical resource for everyday believers. His work serves as a guide for family prayers, a comforting companion for those visiting the sick, and a valuable tool for private devotions for those whose busy lives prevent them from engaging with larger commentaries. Ryle presents this first volume on the Gospel of St. Matthew with a heartfelt prayer that it may inspire genuine faith, deepen the understanding of Christ, and serve as a humble instrument in the vital mission of transforming and uplifting souls.
