The Courage to Be Formidable: Women's History and the Future of Democracy In this inaugural episode of Voices of Purpose, President Irma Becerra chats with historian and author Dr. Elisabeth Griffith to examine the deep connections between women's education, democratic participation, and the ongoing fight for equality. Referencing her landmark book Formidable: American Women and the Fight for Equality, 1920–2020, Dr. Griffith traces women's history from the revolutionary mothers of the founding era to the suffragists who picketed the White House — and considers what it means to tell America's complete story. A discussion about courage, civic voice, and why an informed citizenry matters more today than ever. Learn more about Marymount University at: https://www.marymount.edu
