In the preface of his renowned collection, The Ghost Stories of an Antiquary, the author boldly declares his disdain for benevolent ghosts and those with refined sensibilities. He finds a kindred spirit in this sentiment and takes it a step further, rejecting the notion of a natural explanation‚deeming it a disheartening anti-climax. What ensues in these tales is a chilling exploration of those who return, driven by pure malevolence. Here, no skeptical materialist can undermine the authenticity of their spectral presence.
