As the English colonies expanded along the Atlantic seaboard, so too did the ambitions of New France. Despite their growing powers, open warfare remained elusive while the crowns of England and France maintained a fragile peace. However, the landscape shifted dramatically after the fall of the Stuart dynasty, with the new King, William of Orange, facing fierce opposition from France, which denounced him as both a heretic and a usurper. This marked the beginning of a brutal conflict in America, where from 1690 to 1760, the two rivals engaged in relentless battles, interspersed only by fleeting moments of respite for preparation. The resolution of this fierce struggle ultimately resulted in France conceding its American empire to England. Join us as we delve into this gripping saga spanning seventy years.
