When Patty Went to College is Jean Websters delightful debut novel, published in 1903. This witty tale offers a charming glimpse into life at an all-girls college in the early 20th century. The story follows the vivacious Patty Wyatt, an intelligent and carefree young woman who defies convention. Throughout her senior year, Patty embarks on a series of amusing escapades, filling her days with laughter, pranks, and the camaraderie of her friends. While she prefers to study only as much as necessary, Patty is also deeply compassionate, often going out of her way to support those in need, including the homesick freshman, Olivia Copeland, who fears being sent home for failing her classes.
