After concluding his previous Oz adventure, The Emerald City of Oz, Baum initially sought to explore new stories beyond the beloved land. However, his young fans had other ideas, urging him to return to the magic of Oz. In response, he crafted these charming stories aimed at younger readers, reminiscent of todays Little Golden Books. Each tale follows the humorous escapades of beloved Oz characters as they navigate the enchanting landscape of Oz. Originally published as individual stories, they were later compiled into a single volume, inviting children and families to experience the joy and adventure of Baums captivating imagination.
