In this poignant tale, we follow Rilla Blythe, the spirited daughter of Anne of Green Gables, as she navigates the challenges of adolescence during the tumultuous times of World War I. Named in honor of the steadfast Marilla Cuthbert, Rilla is thrust into a world of uncertainty when her brothers and beloved face the horrors of war. While her sisters step up as nurses, Rilla, still too young to serve, grapples with her desire to contribute to the war effort from home. What can one young woman do to make a difference in such a monumental struggle? L.M. Montgomery’s final installment in the beloved Anne series captures Rillas journey through fear, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit, all while weaving in the lighthearted moments of life in Glen St. Mary—from the antics of the family cat to the whirlwind preparations for a wedding with just a day’s notice. With a blend of drama and humor, Rillas diary reveals not only her courage but also the love stories of those around her.
