The CHEMIST is short for Chemistry, History, Etymology: Mixed, Interesting Stories on Tape. Based out of Brown University, this series builds off of the research of Professor Amit Basu's project on chemical etymologies, Aetoumos. It presents chemical histories through quick, accessible episodes that explore a family of chemical compounds and the stories, characters, and language that come along with it! For more on the Aetoumos project, follow us on Bluesky @aetoumos.bsky.social! Funding for this project was provided by Brown University through the Undergraduate Teaching and Research Awards program as well as a Judith H. Zern Award. Work on this podcast was supported by access to recording and editing equipment at the Brown University Library's Sidney E. Frank Digital Studio. Our cover art was designed by Elliot Stravato.
