The J-Card Podcast

music, society, culture · EN

The J-Card Podcast is a weekly music show that asks guests to make a personal mixtape. Every episode, a guest walks host Alexei Shishkin through their mixtape. We talk about the songs, sure, but really we're talking about the person, what shaped them, what they're chasing, why a song from years ago still gets them every time, stuff like that. It's part music discovery, part oral history, part hangout show. Past guests have been musicians, comedians, photographers, label heads, booking agents, zine makers, radio DJs, lawyers who work in music, and plenty of people who don't fit neatly into any of those. The through line is always the same: they care enough about music to make a 6-track mixtape and sing its praises. New episodes drop on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts. www.jcardpod.com
