My Life and Work

business, history, science, social · EN

In My Life and Work, Henry Ford shares the pivotal moments that shaped his philosophy and the obstacles he faced on his journey to establish the Ford Motor Company. He emphasizes the value of tangible service and physical production, arguing that a business or government’s worth lies in the services it renders to society, rather than the profits it generates. Ford contends that genuine human needs can only be met through service, not mere regulations. He explores various sectors, including lending, transportation, international trade, and labor-management relations, proposing innovative solutions that prioritize quality and affordability. While his perspective is grounded in materialism, he offers insightful commentary on creating efficient systems that provide reliable transportation for the everyday person.
