Delve into the enchanting world of the Ingoldsby Legends, a captivating collection of myths, legends, ghost stories, and poetry. Penned under the whimsical pseudonym of Thomas Ingoldsby by Richard Harris Barham, these tales first graced the pages of Bentleys Miscellany in 1837 and later appeared in the New Monthly Magazine. Accompanied by the artistic talents of John Leech and George Cruikshank, these legends captured the imaginations of readers throughout the Victorian era. Compiled into books published in 1840, 1842, and 1847 by Richard Bentley, the collection remains a treasure trove of storytelling, despite its decline in popularity. Discover the enduring charm of these tales in the omnibus edition released in 1879 The Ingoldsby Legends; or Mirth and Marvels. (Summary from Wikipedia) This show includes AI-generated content.
