religion, spirituality, christianity, history · EN

Discover the Didache, a remarkable early Christian text once regarded as nearly on par with Holy Scripture. Rediscovered in 1873 by a Greek Orthodox metropolitan of Nicomedia, this treatise offers profound insights into the beliefs and practices of the early Church. It can be divided into three compelling sections the Two Ways, outlining the paths of Life and Death; a detailed ritual guide covering baptism, fasting, and Holy Communion; and teachings on ministry. While doctrinal teachings are assumed rather than explicitly stated, the Didaches influence is evident in the writings of early Church Fathers such as Eusebius, St. Athanasius, and Origen. Explore the connections and citations that weave this text into the fabric of early Christian thought.
