RootedNPublicHealth is a podcast series exploring the health issues that too often go unspoken in our communities. Hosted by Niaomi S. MoShier, the show discusses public health topics as they impact the quality of life for Black people, through the lens of popular culture and real life experiences. Episodes cover a wide range of topics, from intimate partner violence and Black maternal health to education, spirituality, community, and the historical forces still shaping Black life today, always grounded in research, lived experience, and honest conversation. Some episodes feature guest experts, from researchers and practitioners to community leaders doing the work on the ground. The conversations dig into the systems, the culture, and the history that shape health and quality of life, leaving room for the nuance that most discussions skip over.
