You will never be a leper, nor will any Sister of our Order. This remarkable assurance came from Mother Marianne of Molokai, the Quiet Flame referenced in our title. As a devoted Sister of St. Francis, she dedicated 30 years of her life on the island, providing care and compassion to those suffering from leprosy during and after the time of Father Damien. Mother Mariannes words were powerful and true; none of the Sisters ever contracted the disease, a testament to their unwavering dedication and the love they shared with the lepers. This inspiring story of a remarkable nun is penned by the acclaimed author known for her engaging Catholic biographies and childrens fiction. (Summary from original jacket and Maria Therese)
