Step into the enchanting world of Alices Adventures Underground, the original handwritten manuscript by Lewis Carroll, crafted for the delight of his family and friends. This charming tale emerged during a boat trip on July 4, 1862, when Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Carrolls real name) entertained the three young daughters of Henry Liddell with a whimsical story about a curious girl named Alice. Captivated by the adventure, Alice Liddell urged Dodgson to write it down, leading him to create this treasured manuscript just a day later. The story blossomed over the following months, inspired by Dodgsons interactions with children and his research into natural history for the characters. Ultimately, he presented the beautifully illustrated manuscript as a heartfelt Christmas gift to Alice, dedicating it to her in memory of a summers day. This captivating account not only showcases Carrolls imagination but also highlights the profound impact that storytelling can have on young minds.
