Explore the profound insights of Old Paths, a compelling work that delves into the essential truths of Christianity. Drawing inspiration from the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah, who speaks of the old paths as the way to find rest for our souls (Jer 66), Bishop Ryle penned this book during a time when many in the church were abandoning traditional evangelical beliefs for more liberal ideologies. Ryle passionately defended the timeless doctrines upheld by the early Christians and reformers, which were increasingly dismissed as outdated. He firmly believed that the world does not need a new Gospel, but rather a bold and unwavering return to the old paths.
