In the mountains, river valleys, and forgotten places of Appalachia, some stories refuse to disappear. Shadows of Appalachia is a cinematic documentary podcast exploring the region's strangest histories, enduring mysteries, folklore, and unexplained events — separating what we know from what we think we know, without losing sight of the mystery. Hosted by West Virginia native Tyler J. Sharp. Season One: The Mothman Files. In 1966, residents around Point Pleasant, West Virginia, began reporting a strange winged figure with glowing red eyes. But the creature was only the beginning. Strange lights appeared over the Ohio Valley. Telephones behaved inexplicably. Unfamiliar visitors arrived. And thirteen months after the first sightings, the Silver Bridge collapsed into the Ohio River. Real places. Strange stories. Lasting questions. An Infinitus Production.
