Songsheets: The Stories Behind the Music

music, history, commentary · EN

The stories behind the music, one scene at a time. Every Saturday a whole issue of Songsheets is read aloud: how a scene began, who made it, the records that mattered and where the sound went next. The scenes range from Manchester post-punk and Detroit techno to Brazilian Tropicália and Bristol trip-hop. The narration is by synthetic voices, and the issues are written with AI help and checked against their sources. Each issue, with its records and photographs, is at songsheets.co.
