Paula the Waldensian

fiction, religion, spirituality, christianity · EN

Step into the life of Paula, a spirited young orphan from the quaint village of Villar in the Waldensian Valley, as she enters the home of her self-absorbed relatives in old France. Despite her humble upbringing, where she tended to cows, goats, sheep, and rabbits, Paulas heart is filled with a profound love for the Lord Jesus and the Scriptures. Her faith is the heartbeat of her existence, and she cannot help but share this joy with everyone around her, even when it leads to complications in her cousins home, where religion is strictly off-limits. Forbidden from reading her cherished Bible, Paula’s loving nature, cheerful disposition, and genuine kindness gradually win over her family and neighbors, sparking transformation in their little French village along the road from Rouen to Darnetal. Originally penned in French, this remarkable story has been translated into Spanish and English, capturing the essence of Paulas journey. (Summary by Jami Chambers)
