Diary of a Pilgrimage

arts, books, comedy, fiction · EN

Join the comic novelist Jerome K. Jerome on a whimsically chaotic journey to Germany, where he and a friend set out to witness the renowned Passion Play in Oberammergau. Their adventure takes them through iconic locations such as London, Dover, Ostend, Cologne, Munich, and Heidelberg, only to be marred by a series of amusing mishaps. Expect seasickness, peculiar cuisine, bizarre accommodations, misleading guidebooks, baffling train schedules, and a host of cultural and linguistic blunders. As with his famous work Three Men in a Boat, this travelogue is filled with humor and delightful anecdotes that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
