Join us as we delve into the gripping account of the U.S. Armys expedition in pursuit of the fierce Chiricahua Apaches during the spring of 1883. Written by the Medal of Honor recipient Bourke, who distinguished himself in the American Civil War, this narrative offers a vivid portrayal of his extensive Army career, which included several campaigns during the tumultuous Indian wars of the late 19th century. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Bourke expressed a deep admiration for Native American culture, providing a nuanced perspective on their lives amidst the conflicts.
