Expository Thoughts on the Gospels - St. Luke Vol. 1

religion, spirituality, christianity · EN

In Expository Thoughts, J. C. Ryle meticulously divides the Gospels into manageable sections of about twelve verses, highlighting two or three key points for reflection. Recognizing the wealth of detailed commentaries available during his time, Ryle sought to create a resource that would serve the everyday believer—ideal for family prayers, comforting the sick with thoughtful readings, or enriching personal devotions for those with busy lives. This first volume on St. Luke continues the tradition established in his previous works on St. Matthew and St. Mark, with Ryle’s earnest hope that it will promote pure and undefiled religion, deepen the understanding of Christ, and serve as a humble tool for the vital mission of converting and edifying immortal souls.
